Preparing children for a lifetime of learning involves building strong relationships with children first and foremost. Children need to feel valued and loved and they must feel comfortable in their environment before they can develop to their full potential.
Our Educators at Everton Park Child Care and Development Centre spend a lot of time getting to know the children and helping them feel comfortable in the centre as well as with the Educators. We value our community and every Educator strives to get to know every child and every parent that attends the centre.
Once children feel this sense of belonging, they will be able to explore, discover, experiment, hypothesise, socialise, communicate, have fun and develop fully.
Our programs support each child’s abilities and interests and allow children to develop at their own rate and time. These early years are vital in establishing and developing brain pathways for children to become effective learners throughout their life.
At Everton Park Child Care and Development Centre we recognise the need to employ Educators with diverse skills, backgrounds and experience. We seek to employ Educators and Teachers that are passionate and committed to provide excellence in both care and education and we make every effort to employ the best possible staff.
As a centre we value the importance of providing consistency of care to bring the best quality of outcomes for children so retention of staff is important. All our staff feel respected and valued.
The centre is owned and operated by Con and Julie Clifford with over 45 years experience in early childhood. Con is a qualified Kindergarten Teacher, while Con and his wife Julie have had 4 children of their own and have lived in Brisbane for more than 40 years. After purchasing the business in 1999 they have contributed to the development of thousands of children and supported many families in their need for care and education for their children.
Management of this centre is conducted by Kelly Pugh-Jones who has many years experience and knowledge of early childhood care and education, through previous roles as Centre Manager in other child care settings as well as her role in training early childhood educators through a well regarded and experienced organisation within this industry/sector.
Kelly is supported by a Development Manager from another experienced and capable company Giggletree Management. This organisation has many years in the early childhood environment working and supporting a number of centres to ensure they operate effectively, efficiently and within the requirements of the overarching legislation that governs early education in Australia.
