Kindergarten Program

Our Kindergarten Program

When your child moves to Kindergarten they will go into one either Kindy 3 or Kindy 4 room. At Everton Park Child Care and Development Centre we have two Queensland approved Kindergarten rooms which are led by Bachelor Qualified Early Childhood Teachers (ECT).

The Kindergarten programs are guided by both the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and the Early Years Learning Framework which align closely together.  Our Teachers and Educators provide a rich curriculum that brings opportunities for children to develop at their own rate. This takes place through unstructured play experiences and effective teaching strategies to help children develop the skills they need to succeed when they move to Prep.

An effective and successful teacher and educator is able to support children’s interests, discoveries and experimentations through the use of collaborative intentional teaching that is meaningful and beneficial to the individual child as well as for the group.

Our kindergarten Program ensures that we:

  • Recognise the individuality of each child
  • Provide a holistic and emergent play-based curriculum to the highest standard
  • Establish a love of learning
  • Provide open ended creative experiences that allow children to succeed in solving problems, practice persistence and develop confidence in order to make informed decisions
  • Build an understanding of the environment and the importance of sustainable practices
  • Support and explore ways to promote physical health, safety and wellbeing.

Readiness for School:

We implement a program that focuses on 5 key areas of children’s social and emotional development. These give children the skills that they’ll need to succeed in their learning journey, which starts from birth and will continue to school and beyond!

  • Confidence – give new things a go, ask for help if they require it
  • Persistence – keep trying, concentration, practice
  • Resilience – effectively express how we are feeling, learn strategies to deal with overwhelming emotions
  • Building relationships – making friends, cooperating, be honest and respectful
  • Organisation – take care of our belongings, keep our environments tidy and organised, put things back where they belong
